So Your Ready For Laser Hair Removal!

If you are suffering with unwanted body hair, you might be ready for laser hair removal. In the meantime, however, here are some ways that you can begin preparing for your first laser hair removal appointment:

Stop Tanning

This means no tanning beds, no sitting outside trying to get a tan, no self tanners, and no going out without sunscreen on the body part being treated for two weeks prior to your appointment.

Double Check Your Skincare Regimen

If you are using certain anti-aging or acne products on your skin, you may need to stop for a few days before (and after) your appointment. Some ingredients that might cause irritation include alpha-hydroxy acid, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, Retin-A and others. If you are advised to stop using these products, be sure to remember to do so!

Stop Plucking, Tweezing and Waxing

In order for the laser to be able to stop hair growth, the hair shaft needs to be kept intact. This means that removing hair from the shaft, whether by tweezing, waxing or threading, will make the treatment less effective, and hair removal will require more appointments. We also recommend that you refrain from using chemical depilatories such as Nair, Neet etc. We recommend you shave or trim your hair as desired 2-3 days prior to your treatment.
